Nitte University, Mangaluru, has once again earned global recognition by securing a position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, reinforcing its standing as a centre of academic excellence and impactful research. The university has been placed in the 1201–1500 band, reflecting its consistent performance in higher education at the international level.
According to university officials here on Sunday, this accomplishment highlights Nitte’s commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening international collaborations, and integrating social responsibility into its educational ethos.
The ranking methodology is based on five key pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry Engagement, and International Outlook. Nitte University received a notable ranking of 255 globally in Teaching, underlining the institution’s emphasis on quality instruction, student engagement, and the overall learning experience.
Expressing pride in the achievement, university leadership extended gratitude to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners whose collective efforts contributed to this milestone. They emphasized that the recognition is a testament not only to past accomplishments but also to Nitte’s continued pursuit of excellence in research and education.
K S Hegde, a senior official at the university, noted that the global ranking motivates the institution to further enhance teaching standards, advance innovative research, and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
