Chief Minister’s Media Advisor K.V. Prabhakar urged talented youth to use their abilities as assets for society during a Pratibha Puraskara (Talent Award) event organized by the Karnataka State Kanaka Employees’ Association. Addressing a gathering of children and community members, Prabhakar emphasized the importance of transforming personal talent into social contribution. “Within our community, we have a legacy of hard work and extraordinary role models,” he said. Citing figures such as freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna, saint-poet Kanakadasa, reformer Ahilyabai Holkar, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he noted that these elders became assets to society and should inspire the younger generation.
Prabhakar stressed that talent is not merely individual achievement but a collective responsibility. “Opportunities exist today because of the struggles of our elders, yet many still lack access to such chances. You must become ambassadors for those deprived of opportunities,” he urged.
He also highlighted the importance of moral values alongside academic success, cautioning that over-reliance on digital connections and neglect of parental relationships leads to a “diseased society.” He warned against pushing elders into old-age homes and stressed that the proliferation of schools and playgrounds, rather than hospitals, reflects a society’s health.
The event was graced by Kaginele Gurupith’s Sri Sri Ishwaranandapuri Swamiji and attended by notable figures including former Minister H.M. Revanna, Koppal University Vice-Chancellor B.K. Ravi, Insight Academy’s Vinay Kumar, former Minister R. Varthur Prakash, and several community leaders. Prabhakar’s message resonated as a call for youth to honor their heritage, transform personal talent into social good, and uphold community values while ensuring the welfare of the underprivileged.
