The Karnataka Men’s T20 Cricket Series for the Blind 2025 began on Wednesday at Altiore Sports, The Oval, with four teams — Kadambas, Hoysalas, Chalukyas, and Wadiyars — named after Karnataka’s historic dynasties. The event celebrates both sportsmanship and the state’s rich heritage.

The opening match witnessed Karnataka Hoysalas secure a strong 42-run victory over Karnataka Kadambas. Captain Harish S played a match-winning innings of 68 runs from 55 balls, helping his side post 197/6. Though Hemanth* remained unbeaten on 44, Kadambas could only manage 155/9.

In the second game, Karnataka Wadiyars dominated against Karnataka Chalukyas with a 59-run win. Krishnamurthy S scored a quick 36, supported by lower-order partnerships, as Wadiyars set a target of 176/9. Their tight bowling and agile fielding restricted Chalukyas to just 117.

The league stage continues through September 25, with a ranking clash scheduled for September 26 morning. The grand finale will follow at 1:00 PM, where the top two teams will fight for the championship.

The series is being organised by the Karnataka Cricket Association for the Blind (KCAB), in partnership with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). The organisers aim to strengthen inclusivity in sports while nurturing talent.

This year’s competition comes after India’s recent success in international blind cricket. In February, India defeated Bangladesh 4-1 in a bilateral series, with Bangladesh clinching the last game. In May, India overpowered South Africa 5-0 at the Samarth Championship in Bengaluru, further cementing its dominance.
