Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest award in cinema. On Sunday Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated the actor on social media, calling it a well-deserved recognition for his work as an actor, director, and producer.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also praised Mohanlal, saying he always brings natural acting to the screen and has played many different roles. Pawan Kalyan noted that Mohanlal has won five national awards and gained love from Telugu audiences through films like Iddaru, Company, and Janatha Garage.
Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy joined in the wishes, calling Mohanlal’s contribution to cinema “everlasting.” He wished him more success and good health.
Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi also posted a warm message, calling Mohanlal’s career inspiring and his award well-earned.
Actor Jr NTR wrote that Mohanlal is a “true icon of Indian cinema” and deserves the honour.
