SIT cites lack of credible evidence in complaint, while MLA alleges political conspiracy behind accusations.
Rajarajeshwari Nagar BJP MLA Muniratna Naidu has been given a clean chit in the alleged gangrape case filed against him at RMC Yard police station. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted a B-report to the court, concluding that the allegations made by the complainant could not be substantiated.
The case stemmed from a woman’s complaint accusing Muniratna and others of gangrape. Based on her statement, an FIR was registered and investigations were launched. However, the SIT reported that no credible evidence supported her claims. Investigators stated that the woman had consumed sleeping pills and rehearsed the incident multiple times, but forensic tests later revealed no trace of such substances in her body.
Reacting to the court’s acceptance of the B-report, Muniratna strongly denied the charges and claimed he was the victim of a political conspiracy. “After losing the Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha seat, some people plotted against me. False cases of rape and Dalit atrocities are being filed repeatedly. But I have faith in God—Mutyalamma Devi is watching everything, and truth will prevail,” he said.
The MLA added that he learned about the B-report through his legal team and announced plans to hold a press conference to present his side in detail. “It is better to stop spreading such false news. I will share all information with the public,” he stated. The SIT’s report is expected to close the case against Muniratna unless further appeals are made.
