Scindia urges youth to lead ‘Vishwaguru Bharat’

Scindia called the fest a launchpad, urging youth to build transformative, responsible AI that uplifts humanity, not controls it

New Delhi
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday called upon India’s youth to lead the nation’s next chapter as ‘Vishwaguru Bharat,’ highlighting India’s historic legacy as a global knowledge hub. Speaking at ESYA, the tech fest of IIIT-Delhi, he drew attention to India’s achievements from Aryabhata’s zero to the ancient universities of Nalanda and Takshashila, emphasizing that the thirst for knowledge remains in the country’s DNA.

Calling the fest a “launchpad to enact bold dreams,” Scindia said India’s rise depends on young innovators. He highlighted the transformative potential of artificial intelligence, urging students to develop “Responsible AI for All” that uplifts humanity rather than dominates it. He also noted India’s growing leadership in frontier technologies, mentioning the Telecom Technology Development Fund’s investment in over 120 projects, including quantum computing, terahertz communication, bio-nano systems, indigenous chipsets, and encrypted routers.

Scindia stressed India’s aim to lead in 6G and contribute at least 10 percent of global patents by 2030, placing students at the heart of this mission. He reminded students that India’s growth is anchored in civilisational values, such as Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, and encouraged them to solve real-world problems—from precision farming and digital classrooms to tele-health for small towns.

Addressing future innovators who may study abroad, Scindia urged them to return home, apply their knowledge, and help rebuild India into the ‘Golden Bird’ it once was. He called on students to turn brain drain into brain gain, ensuring that India’s next generation of leaders and thinkers drive the nation toward global prominence.
