Kalaburagi Records Season’s Highest Temperature at 45.3°C

Severe heatwave conditions continue to grip several districts of North Karnataka, with Kalaburagi district recording a scorching 45.3°C in Farhatabad hobli—the highest temperature of the season so far, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Earlier, Aurad hobli in Kalaburagi taluk had recorded 45°C, but the latest reading in Farhatabad has surpassed that mark. Several parts of Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bidar, Vijayapura, and Yadgir districts have been experiencing temperatures ranging between 42°C and 45.3°C, severely disrupting normal life.According to data from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), temperatures above 42°C were recorded at 26 locations in Kalaburagi, 23 in Raichur, 17 in Bidar, 13 in Yadgir, and 11 in Vijayapura.The IMD has forecast that there will be no significant change in temperatures over the next five days. Authorities have advised people to take precautions, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and stay hydrated to cope with the extreme heat.
