Creativity, curiosity and scientific thinking took centre stage as the Rotary Mysore Children’s Library (RMCL) organised ‘Model Mania,’ an inter-school Science Model Making Competition for students studying up to Class 10.
The competition provided budding young scientists with an exciting platform to showcase their innovation, scientific thinking, creativity and practical skills through working and innovative science models.
As many as 13 schools and 25 teams enthusiastically participated in the competition. The event turned into a vibrant display of young minds at work, with students presenting a wide range of interesting ideas reflecting their fascination with science, technology and innovation. The competition not only tested the students’ scientific knowledge but also encouraged them to think beyond textbooks, find practical solutions and transform classroom concepts into working models. Working in teams also helped the participants develop cooperation, communication and problem-solving skills.
Rotary Mysore English Medium School Bags Top Honour
The Rotary Mysore English Medium School team comprising Abhyuday H.S. and Beheer Benson secured the first place, impressing the judges with their model and presentation.
National Public School student Nilimpa K.N. secured the second place, while the team from JSS Public School, comprising Nirupam, Vihaan, Shrinidhi and Harshith, won the third place.
Special recognition
The organisers also presented encouragement/consolation awards to acknowledge the efforts of students who displayed creativity and enthusiasm.
Students Adhya Ingalagi, Adhya Patel, Dhuthishree and Anjali from Pramathi Hill View received an encouragement/consolation award. Aashrita Abhishek was also honoured with an encouragement/consolation award. The winners were presented with trophies, certificates and cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance. The special awards were aimed at encouraging students to continue exploring science and developing their innovative abilities.
Congratulating all the participants, RMCL Secretary Ponnanna K.C. appreciated the enthusiasm and efforts of the students and said such competitions provide children with a valuable opportunity to explore their scientific potential.
