Vemal and Shriya Saran’s film ‘Sandakkari’ could release in September, as makers consider releasing it this month.
Directed by R. Madhesh, the film is based on a story by ‘Drishyam’ filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. Punnagai Poo Gheetha has produced the project.
‘Sandakkari’ is described as a family entertainer set inside a software company in London. Shriya plays a senior executive, while Vemal portrays an employee working under her. Their contrasting personalities create clashes involving love, ego, humour and unexpected twists.
Actor Sathyan is expected to provide additional comedy. His character gets caught between Vemal and Shriya during their confrontations.
The cast also includes Prabhu, K. R. Vijaya, Punnagai Poo Gheetha, Rekha, Dev Gill, Uma Padmanabhan, Mahanadi Shankar and Crane Manohar in key roles.
The technical team includes music director Amrish, cinematographer Gurudev, editor Dinesh Ponraj and art director Ayyappan. Kanal Kannan has choreographed the action, while Habeeb has handled the dance sequences.
Sources say the film blends romance, comedy, family emotions and conflicts. The makers are believed to be exploring options to bring the movie to theatres soon. However, an official September release date is yet to be announced.
