The state government has launched the Praja Seva Abhiyan to make governance easier, faster, and more transparent. The campaign aims to bring government services closer to people and reduce the need for citizens to visit offices repeatedly.
A new Public Service Department has been formed to receive public complaints and help resolve them either immediately or within a fixed period. Meetings will be held every Saturday at taluk and hobli levels. Meetings on the first and third Saturdays will be chaired by the district in-charge minister, while local MLAs will lead meetings on the second and fourth Saturdays.
People can submit complaints beforehand through Gram One centres or use free computers, printers, and internet facilities available at meeting venues. Complaints will be reviewed every Wednesday in three stages. Cases pending for more than 21 days under Sakal or IPGRS will receive special attention.
Citizens can also register complaints through the 1902 helpline, the IPGRS portal, or the Janaspandan mobile application. Delayed complaints will be automatically sent to concerned department heads. The Chief Minister will personally review pending cases at the state level.
In Uttara Kannada, meetings have been organised at Ankola, Murdeshwar, Haliyal, Sirsi, Yellapur, and Kumta under the leadership of ministers and local MLAs. People have been urged to participate, submit grievances, and seek benefits under government schemes. The campaign is being presented as an important step towards responsive and citizen-friendly democracy.
