Kolkata
The Met Office has predicted thunderstorms and rain across Kolkata and South Bengal till May 5. Heavy showers and strong winds are likely on Monday, the day of vote counting for the West Bengal Assembly polls at 77 centres. Since April 29, several districts have already witnessed storm activity. Temperatures have slightly reduced due to rainfall, but humid conditions are expected to continue during the day. Officials said weather conditions are being caused by a cyclonic circulation stretching from north Haryana to Manipur, bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal.
