Karadi Sanganna highlighted Buddha Purnima as a peace festival, praising Buddha, Basava, Ambedkar; speakers urged spreading non-violence, equality, education, and awareness among youth

MLA K Raghavendra Hitnal said Gautama Buddha is the light of Asia while addressing the Lord Buddha Jayanti program held at Dr B R Ambedkar Circle in Koppal organized jointly by district administration Kannada and culture department and municipal council on May 1. He said Buddha who left wealth and chose a simple life is one of the greatest thinkers in history and his birth celebration is meaningful because it is supported by the state government.
He added that even after seventy five years efforts are still needed to remove inequality in society and only then real equality can be achieved Former MP Karadi Sanganna said Buddha Purnima is a festival of peace and Buddha Basava and Ambedkar are guiding lights for humanity He said the world today needs Buddha because conflict and violence are increasing Retired DSP Girish Kamble said Buddha is not only India but the world He said Buddha taught peace compassion and equality and his ideas are universal He also said Dr Ambedkar followed Buddha principles while framing the Constitution Officials and leaders attended the event and called for spreading Buddha teachings among youth Participants said Buddha message of non violence should be followed in daily life Speakers stressed that education and awareness are key to building an equal society.
Assistant Commissioner Captain Mahesh Malagitti and Municipal Commissioner Manjunath Gundura were among those present at the ceremony Information Officer Gavisiddappa Hosamani welcomed the gathering and explained the purpose of the program which focused on unity peace and social harmony Organizers said Buddha teachings remain relevant in modern times especially in addressing social inequality and encouraging peaceful coexistence Leaders urged students and youth to follow the path of wisdom and discipline inspired by Buddha Many community leaders including Krishna Ittangi Muthuraj Kushtagi Sidram Hosamani Nagaraja Bellada Raghu Bellada and others participated actively and supported the event.
The program concluded with messages of goodwill and encouragement for future generations to continue spreading values of peace equality and respect for all people across society The organizers thanked everyone for making the celebration successful and memorable in Koppal district
