Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has strongly criticised the BJP-led central government following the killing of a young man from Bihar in New Delhi.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader alleged that the incident reflects growing insecurity and discrimination faced by migrant workers from Bihar in the national capital.
The controversy erupted after a 23-year-old man, identified as Pandav Kumar from Bihar’s Khagaria district, was reportedly shot dead, while his friend Krishna sustained serious injuries in the same incident. Raising concerns over the safety of migrants, Yadav claimed that individuals from Bihar are increasingly becoming targets, alleging that their identity itself has turned into a reason for violence.
In a strongly worded post on the social media platform X, Yadav questioned the accountability of authorities responsible for maintaining law and order in the capital. He pointed out that multiple layers of governance in Delhi, including administrative and political leadership, are under the Bharatiya Janata Party, thereby holding the ruling establishment responsible for the incident.
Yadav further alleged that economic challenges in Bihar have forced many residents to migrate to other states in search of livelihood opportunities. However, he claimed that these migrant workers often face discrimination, harassment, and even violence in host states. According to him, the lack of adequate protection and respect for migrant communities highlights systemic issues that need urgent attention.
The RJD leader also raised questions regarding the conduct of law enforcement agencies, alleging that the victim did not receive fair treatment. He demanded strict action against those responsible and called for accountability within the policing system.
The incident has once again brought the issue of migrant safety and inter-state social tensions into focus. Political reactions are expected to intensify in the coming days as debates over governance, law enforcement, and the treatment of migrant communities continue to gain traction.
