Ahead of the Common Entrance Test (CET) scheduled for April 23 and 24, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rayappa Hunasgi has directed officials to ensure stringent measures for the smooth and fair conduct of examinations.He was speaking at a preparatory meeting held with examination centre heads at the Deputy Commissioner’s office hall. He informed that around 14,405 students will appear for the CET across 35 examination centres in the district.
District-level officers have been appointed as observers for each centre and have been instructed to be present at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination to oversee arrangements and ensure smooth conduct.Hunasgi emphasized that all basic facilities, including seating arrangements, electricity, drinking water, and sanitation, must be ensured in advance at every centre. He also directed officials to ensure that frisking of candidates is conducted sensitively, without hurting religious sentiments.
The use of mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, pagers, calculators, and all other electronic gadgets has been strictly prohibited inside examination centres. A 200-metre radius around each centre has been declared a restricted zone, and the police department will enforce strict security measures.The examinations will be monitored through CCTV surveillance and webcasting. Authorities warned that any malpractice detected will hold the respective centre heads accountable. Pre-University Education Department Deputy Director Suresh Akkanna and other officials, along with examination centre heads, were present at the meeting.
