UAE government debunks lifetime Golden Visa, calls reports as fake
Dubai
The UAE government has firmly dismissed recent media reports claiming that a "lifetime" Golden Visa is being offered to certain nationalities, calling them completely false.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) clarified that all Golden Visa applications are managed solely through official UAE government channels. "No internal or external advisory body is recognized as an authorized party for processing Golden Visa applications," the ICP stated.
The reports appeared in several Indian media outlets and on websites abroad, suggesting that people could apply for a so-called "lifetime UAE Golden Visa." According to the ICP, these claims were made without legal backing or official verification.
The ICP urged the public to rely only on official sources such as the ICP website or its smart application for accurate information. "Legal action will be taken against entities spreading such rumors to scam people hoping to live and work in the UAE," it warned.
The authority emphasized that the Golden Visa remains a government-regulated program, issued only after a thorough vetting process. The visa may be granted to those meeting strict criteria, such as investing at least AED 2 million in real estate, owning a business, or having outstanding achievements in fields like science, arts, culture, or sports.
Misleading promotions, including offers claiming visas can be obtained by simply paying a one-time fee, have recently circulated, particularly targeting Indian nationals.
The ICP called on people to avoid falling for these scams and to confirm all details through official UAE government platforms or the helpline at 600522222.
The UAE government stressed its commitment to transparency and protecting residents and investors from fraud.
