U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a new immigration program offering wealthy foreigners a chance at permanent residency in exchange for a $5 million payment. Named the “Gold Card,” the initiative aims to attract high-net-worth individuals and skilled talents through a new government website, trumpcard.gov.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump declared, “For five million dollars, the Trump card is coming,” and described it as a fast-track to entering “the Greatest Country and Market anywhere in the World.”

The website is currently accepting contact information for those interested. Applications are not yet open, but registrants will be notified once access becomes available.

Trump promoted the Gold Card as a premium alternative to the EB-5 investor visa, calling it “green card privileges plus.” Though the card does not provide instant citizenship, it grants permanent residency and a potential path to becoming a U.S. citizen, pending legal requirements.

"This is not immediate citizenship," Trump clarified. "It’s a road to citizenship for people of wealth or great talent."

According to USA Today, the $5 million payment provides access to permanent residency but not automatic citizenship. Applicants will still need to meet standard legal and residency conditions.

The move comes as Trump continues to push for "merit-based immigration" policies, aiming to tighten traditional immigration routes while encouraging global investment.

The administration is marketing the Gold Card as a sophisticated option for the elite, with Trump emphasizing its appeal to global investors seeking a new life in the United States.
