Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, completing the last leg of his three-nation tour. This marks the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, signaling a major step forward in deepening ties between the two countries.

Upon arrival in Zagreb, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome. During his stay, he will hold important bilateral talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and meet President Zoran Milanovic. The visit aims to boost cooperation in various sectors and strengthen India’s engagement with the European Union.

PM Modi reached Croatia after concluding his visit to Canada, where he participated in the G7 Summit. Calling the visit “productive,” he expressed gratitude towards the Canadian government and people. He shared on X, “We remain committed to furthering global peace, prosperity and sustainability.”

At the G7 Summit’s Outreach Session held in Kananaskis, PM Modi addressed a session on “Energy Security.” He stressed the need for access to affordable and sustainable energy. Modi outlined India’s energy strategy, based on availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability.

He highlighted India’s early success in meeting Paris Agreement goals and emphasized initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, Global Biofuels Alliance, and Mission LiFE. He urged global cooperation to support these projects.

India's climate efforts and energy goals formed a strong part of Modi’s message at the summit, aligning with his broader agenda of green development.

His visit to Croatia is expected to open new partnerships and enhance cooperation in technology, economy, and sustainable development, reinforcing India's growing presence in Europe.
