PM Modi, Estonian President discuss cybersecurity cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Estonian President Alar Karis met on Tuesday on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris, focusing on enhancing bilateral cybersecurity cooperation. This marked their first meeting, where both leaders reaffirmed India-Estonia ties based on democracy, the rule of law, and shared values of freedom and pluralism.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), both sides expressed satisfaction over the strengthening cooperation in trade, IT, digital infrastructure, culture, tourism, and people-to-people ties. PM Modi invited Estonian businesses to explore investment opportunities in India, particularly under initiatives like Digital India. The leaders emphasized the significance of the India-Estonia partnership within the broader India-EU strategic framework. They welcomed ministerial exchanges in the India-Nordic-Baltic format and discussed global and regional issues of mutual interest, including collaboration at the United Nations.
PM Modi also acknowledged Estonia’s growing cultural ties with India, appreciating the increasing popularity of Yoga in the country. Earlier, while co-chairing the AI Action Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence, stating that AI is shaping global polity, economy, security, and society in unprecedented ways.
