Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province Of Pakistan Reports The Deaths Of 12 TTP Militants
Peshawar
Twelve Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants were shot dead by Pakistani security forces on Wednesday in the unrest-ridden northwest of the nation, according to authorities, as the government stepped up its onslaught against illegal organizations.
According to counterterrorism department officials, the terrorists' car was targeted during an operation in South Waziristan bordering the Lakki Marwat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Twelve TTP terrorists from the Azahruddin gang were killed in the ensuing fire battle after being stopped by the CTD as they were running towards the nearby Tank district. They claimed they found weapons, ammo, and Afghan cash in the dead people's possession.
Based on earlier intelligence, the operation takes place as the government recently decided to increase its operations against terrorist organizations like the TTP. Mostly in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, but also in Balochistan and the Punjab town of Mianwali, which borders the unrest-ridden Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, terrorism has been on the rise. At a well-guarded mosque in Peshawar on January 30, a Taliban suicide bomber detonated himself during the afternoon prayers, killing 101 people and injuring over 200 others. The TTP's Azahruddin group has been active in the area, attacking law enforcement officers on multiple occasions. It killed six police officers in the district in December 2022.
