The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) carried out airstrikes in southern Syria early Wednesday, targeting military sites and weapon storage facilities. The IDF confirmed the strikes, which hit command centers and weapon depots, through social media updates.

The IDF stated that military assets in southern Syria present a significant threat to Israeli civilians and vowed to continue operations to eliminate any such risks. The force emphasized its commitment to safeguarding Israeli residents and securing the border region.

This action is part of the IDF’s ongoing efforts to secure the area. Earlier in January, the IDF seized over 3,300 weapons from Syrian territory, including tanks, anti-tank missiles, RPGs, mortars, and surveillance equipment. They also dismantled military infrastructure thought to endanger Israeli civilians.

Additionally, IDF troops discovered and confiscated an armored personnel carrier (APC) filled with weapons, anti-tank missiles, and explosives. The IDF reiterated its promise to continue removing these threats to Israel's security.
