The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has confirmed a major overnight airstrike on Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, as part of what it calls Operation Rising Lion. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the precision-guided strike targeted the underground complex that supports Iran’s nuclear program.

The IDF stated that damage was inflicted on critical parts of the site, including enrichment halls housing centrifuges and key electrical infrastructure. It said these facilities were crucial to Iran’s alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons capabilities. This is Iran's largest uranium enrichment site, designed for military-grade production. We targeted the core of their operations, the IDF posted on X.

The announcement follows a large-scale operation in which Israeli jets also struck Iran’s western air defense systems, destroying radar units and missile launchers to ensure aerial freedom for future missions.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the campaign existential, aimed at dismantling what he described as Iran’s accelerating nuclear threat.

Military Intelligence Chief Shlomi Binder echoed the urgency, stating Israel is entering a high-stakes campaign to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear capabilities. In a major development, the IDF also claimed it eliminated three top Iranian military leaders during the strikes, significantly raising tensions and concerns of a wider regional conflict.
