Iran criticizes G7 for supporting Israel
Tehran
Iran has strongly criticized the Group of Seven (G7) countries for supporting Israel in their recent joint statement. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said the G7 ignored what he called Israel’s "clear acts of aggression" against Iran. He accused Israel of attacking peaceful nuclear sites and civilian areas, causing the deaths of many innocent Iranians.
The G7 leaders, who met in Canada, called Iran the main cause of trouble in the Middle East. They said Iran must never be allowed to have nuclear weapons and urged for calm, including a ceasefire in Gaza. The leaders also defended Israel’s right to protect itself.
Baqaei responded by saying that Israel started the conflict without reason and had broken international law by attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities. He said the G7, especially the powerful countries in the United Nations Security Council, must take responsibility and stop Israel’s attacks.
He also said that Israel’s actions are hurting the international rules that protect non-nuclear countries. Baqaei accused Israel of destroying homes, hospitals, and government buildings in Iran.
Calling the G7 statement "one-sided," he urged them to rethink their position and see Israel as the real reason behind the rising violence. He said the UN must act quickly to stop further attacks.
Meanwhile, the conflict between Iran and Israel has entered its fifth day. Iran fired several missiles at Israel, setting off air raid sirens in cities like Haifa and areas near the Golan Heights. The violence between the two countries continues to grow, with no signs of peace yet.
