Russia has said that Europe’s security cannot be kept safe without its involvement. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stressed on Wednesday that any effort to keep Russia out of European security plans is bound to fail.

She said, “Europe's security cannot be ensured without Russia's participation. Attempts to work around or against our country will backfire on those who try it.” Zakharova’s words come while Europe continues to support Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Meanwhile, Czech President Petr Pavel said he is open to restoring cooperation with Russia after the conflict in Ukraine ends. President Pavel mentioned that continuing the fight with Russia forever would lead to many deaths and cause big economic losses. He said, “We want and must start somewhere.”

President Pavel also said that only after the war can Europe start to discuss security and business ties with Russia again.

The statements from Russia and the Czech President show different ideas on how to handle relations with Russia. While Russia warns that Europe needs it for peace and stability, some European leaders still focus on supporting Ukraine and keeping Russia away for now.

These talks show that peace and safety in Europe remain difficult topics, and leaders are divided on the best approach. For now, Europe continues to watch the war in Ukraine closely, wondering how to move forward without risking more violence and economic problems in the region.
