Dubai will host the 11th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) on October 1 and 2 at the World Trade Centre. The event is being organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, and the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO).

This year’s theme is “Innovating for Impact: Accelerating the Future of the Green Economy.” WGES 2025 will bring together experts from across the globe to find smarter, faster ways to fight climate change.

The summit will highlight seven major areas: technology, renewable energy, climate policies, finance, fairness in climate response, adaptation strategies, and youth involvement.

Technology sessions will focus on using AI and smart tools to monitor carbon emissions and improve renewable energy use. The clean energy pillar will discuss nuclear power, green hydrogen, and the rising need for critical minerals.

In the policy area, talks will explore new climate rules in the US and EU and their impact on global markets. The finance section will cover how to fund green projects and improve the carbon credit system.

Climate equity will address the needs of vulnerable communities, especially in health, food, and water. Experts will also look at solutions like smart farming and better water technology.

Climate adaptation discussions will focus on preparing for extreme weather through early warning systems and nature-based recovery plans.

Youth will have a special role at the summit, with sessions on how young people can use technology, business, and activism to lead climate action.

WGES aims to boost global cooperation, create green jobs, and help build a more equal and sustainable world for future generations.
