China said it is “deeply concerned” about the rising tension between India and Pakistan and urged both nations to remain calm and avoid further escalation. The Chinese Foreign Ministry called for a peaceful resolution and said it is closely monitoring the situation.
The response came after Pakistan accused India of striking several targets, including the Nur Khan air base, early Saturday. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, “China strongly urges both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability and return to political solutions.”
The spokesperson also stated that China is ready to play a constructive role to reduce tensions and support peace. “This is also what the international community hopes to see,” the ministry added.
Violence flared further on Saturday when Pakistan launched cross-border shelling in Rajouri, Jammu, damaging homes and alarming residents. India responded with strikes on 26 locations across Pakistan, hitting four airbases in the early hours, according to official sources.
Tensions remain high, with continued firing reported along the Line of Control (LoC). Multiple drone sightings have been confirmed across India’s border regions, including Baramulla, Pathankot, and Jaisalmer. Some drones were suspected to be armed, including one that hit a civilian area in Ferozpur, injuring a local family.
India’s defence ministry assured that security forces are on high alert, counter-drone systems are in place, and citizens in border areas should remain indoors and follow all safety instructions.
The Ministry emphasized there is no need for panic but urged people to remain cautious as the situation develops.
