ZP CEO Inspects Jal Jeevan Mission Works in Belagavi

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde conducted an inspection of ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works across several villages in Channamma Kittur taluk on Thursday. His visit included a review of the Digital Library at Dastikoppa Gram Panchayat and a thorough inspection of household tap connection projects under JJM in villages such as Marnakoppa (Devarshigihalli GP), Tegur and Nichchanaki (Tigadolli GP), and Dombarkoppa and Degawada (Nichchanaki GP).

Shinde interacted with local residents to understand their satisfaction with tap water supply, examined pipeline layouts using technical maps, and engaged in discussions with gram panchayat presidents and members.

He emphasized the need for maintaining hygiene at drinking water sources and instructed officials to ensure that water tanks are cleaned regularly. Stressing timely implementation, Shinde directed officials to complete all pending tap connection works in remaining villages at the earliest.

During his visit, he also inspected the Anganwadi Centre at Dombarkoppa and assessed its infrastructure. Additionally, he reviewed National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) activities, particularly focusing on empowering women's self-help groups (SHGs). He encouraged the promotion of poultry shed initiatives under SHGs and asked officials to identify and allocate land for these ventures.

The inspection team included Executive Engineer Kiran Ghorpade (Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Dept), Executive Officer Mahesh Hooli, Assistant Director Mohammad Gouse Risaldar, gram panchayat officials, PDOs, and local staff.
