ZP CEO inspects housing projects, urges faster completion

S Yukesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, conducted an on-site inspection of housing projects across HD Kote and Hunsur taluks. The visit covered villages such as Madapura, Chakkodanahalli, and Annooru in HD Kote, as well as Nagapura in Hunsur, which are part of housing schemes like Basava, Ambedkar, PMAY, and PM Janman.

During the inspection, it was found that several beneficiaries had not completed their homes despite receiving the first installment of the PMAY grant. Kumar instructed the Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) to speed up construction efforts and complete the geo-tagging process for the finished houses. He emphasized the need for beneficiaries to resume construction work promptly and maintain high standards of quality.

Further discussions were held with the approved beneficiaries to address the delays. The CEO also directed PDOs to verify the eligibility of beneficiaries listed in the 2018 survey and remove ineligible candidates through formal proceedings. The updated list should be submitted to the Taluk Panchayat office within a week, allowing for appropriate action to be taken against ineligible beneficiaries.

The visit was attended by key officials, including District Chief Planning Officer KB Prabhuswamy and Taluk Executive Officers from both HD Kote and Hunsur.
