Yoga Day celebration at Mysuru Palace premises on June 21

The International Yoga Day celebration will be held on June 21 at the Mysuru Palace Grounds in coordination with various departments.
“All necessary preparations for this event must be made in an organized manner,” instructed Dr. P. Shivaraju, Additional Deputy Commissioner.
He was speaking while presiding over a preparatory meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office auditorium on Tuesday.
The ADC said that Mysuru is renowned for yoga, and a large public participation in this program is vital. The event will commence at 6 AM, with around 15,000 yoga practitioners expected to take part. The program will be conducted in accordance with government protocol, and officers were directed to ensure all required arrangements are made.
Participants in the yoga event must wear T-shirts and track pants and bring their own yoga mats. A rehearsal session will be held on June 15, and interested individuals are encouraged to participate.
It was mentioned that individuals from JSS Institution, SISMAM School Management, Yoga Federation, Yoga Association, Yoga Training Institutes, NCC, NSS, and schools and colleges will participate in the program.
Facilities such as ambulance, fire services, drinking water, and other basic amenities must be arranged at the venue. The Mysore City Corporation is responsible for cleanliness and water supply. KSRTC to provide transport facilities for yoga participants, and the Palace Board will ensure venue arrangements and appoint sufficient volunteers for the smooth conduct of the event.
Certificates should be issued to those who participate in the yoga session. The Additional Deputy Commissioner also instructed that proper publicity should be given to the event.
On this occasion, the promotional materials for Yoga Day were released by Dr Shivaraju.
Present at the meeting were Subrahmanya, the Assistant Director of the Palace Board, DDPI Javaregowda, AYUSH Officer Renuka Devi, office-bearers of the Yoga Association and district-level officers.
