Yediyurappa is like my elder brother, says KS Eshwarappa
SHIVAMOGGA — Former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa described his relationship with B.S. Yediyurappa as that of an elder brother during the Rashtrabhakta Balaga Sangathan’s induction program held at his residence on Wednesday. Though he did not explicitly name the BJP, Eshwarappa acknowledged that he, Yediyurappa, Shankaramurthy, and Ananda Rao played key roles in the party’s growth.
Eshwarappa recalled how Yediyurappa personally checked on his health during a recent hospital stay and wished him on his birthday along with Raghavendra. “Friendship is one thing, trust another, but politics is different,” he remarked.
He expressed confidence in the Rashtrabhakta Sangathan’s rising influence, saying that many are eager to join the organization ahead of upcoming elections. Addressing rumors, Eshwarappa clarified that attending Yediyurappa’s grandson’s wedding should not be seen as joining the BJP. “Unless our ideology is discussed, there is no question of joining the BJP,” he stated.
Rejecting claims that the Rashtrabhakta Balaga would weaken if a few members leave, he emphasized the growing strength of the group, calling the current momentum “just a trailer, the picture is still pending.”
Eshwarappa also mentioned support from BJP leaders, including women corporator Sangeeta, who recently joined the Rashtrabhakta Balaga, reinforcing the organization’s role in future political battles.
