Former BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal strongly criticized party leadership and media bias while speaking at Gavishiddheshwara Mutt.

During his visit on Monday, Yatnal had a tense exchange with journalists when asked if he had come to listen to B.Y. Vijayendra. When questioned about possibly joining the Congress, he firmly responded, “The Congress is a Muslim party. I will not go there in this lifetime or the next.” He also alleged that fake social media accounts of B.Y. Vijayendra were spreading false news and accused certain journalists of supporting Vijayendra and Yediyurappa.

Addressing queries about his associates Ramesh Jarakiholi and Kumar Bangarappa, Yatnal asserted, “They are always with me. I answered this recently. Did Vijayendra ask you to pose such questions?” Expressing anger, he warned that those who talked excessively should “get out.”

He accused Vijayendra of denying reservations to Veerashaiva Lingayats and claimed that an IPS officer had been sent to conspire against him. When asked about the officer’s identity, he retorted, “Media folks, stop being a drama company.”

Yatnal announced that he would tour the state and seek public opinion until Vijaya Dashami before deciding his next political step.

Corruption Allegations Against BJP Leaders

Criticizing the BJP high command, he alleged, “The father-son duo has looted thousands of crores in the name of Lingayats and BJP.” He also questioned whether the party was being leased or sold to Yediyurappa’s family.
