Expelled BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal is sending feelers through influential seers in an effort to return to the party fold.

Last week, Sri Jayamruthyunjaya Swamiji, Head seer of Panchamasali community, organized a grand Sri Basava Jayanti celebration in Delhi and invited several BJP MPs and other party leaders. The event was strategically used to urge them to convince the party high command to revoke Yatnal’s expulsion in the interest of consolidating the majority Hindu community. Speaking candidly, the seer claimed that some BJP leaders were in favour of revoking Yatnal’s expulsion to strengthen the party’s base in Karnataka.

Over the past one and a half months since his expulsion, Yatnal has found himself increasingly isolated. Many of his close associates who had vowed to support him have now distanced themselves, leaving the Yatnal politically stranded. His plans to launch a regional party based on Hindutva ideology also failed due to stiff resistance from prominent Hindu leaders. With no viable political alternatives left, Yatnal is said to have realized the significance of being part of a national party rather than attempting to navigate Karnataka’s political landscape alone.

Ultimately, the decision now rests with the BJP high command, which, according to sources, will take a final call independently without yielding to external pressure.

According to sources, Yatnal is now allegedly leveraging the popularity and influence of the seer to appeal to the BJP high command for a reconsideration of his expulsion.   While national leaders appear inclined to pardon Eshwarappa and reinstate him, they are far more hesitant in Yatnal’s case, particularly because of his continued public criticism of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and his son,  MLA and State BJP President BY Vijayendra.
