Mandya

Although the people of Mandya appeared straightforward, they are kind-hearted and remember the help they received, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He spoke at a program organized by the Taluk Kurbara Sangha, where a ceremonial worship (gudali pooja) was performed for the new hostel building.

He emphasized that the new hostel is not only for Kuruba children but also offers opportunities to children of all castes and backward classes. He urged donors to contribute as much as they can, assuring that he will also help. He appreciated the people of Mandya for supporting him over the years.

"We must always remember the kings of Nalvadi. Their contribution to Mandya's progress is immense," he stated.

He also mentioned, "Our government has not only allocated ₹50 crore to the Mysugar factory but has also waived electricity bills and penalties."

He recalled seeing the dilapidated condition of the Mandya hostel building and said the government is ready to provide grants. He emphasized that to achieve the goal that children from backward communities get education—whether they are from villages or towns—hostels are necessary. He added that children from villages should become doctors and engineers, and education should be accessible to all, not just a select few.

He highlighted that if any sugar factories remain in Mandya, and if medical colleges and agricultural universities are established, it is due to the concern and efforts of Congress Minister Chaluvarayaswamy, who is responsible.

He pointed out that last year's monsoon and crop seasons were good, and the rains had answered the critics of Siddaramaiah who claimed his governance was ineffective. He expressed confidence that this year too, good rainfall will lead to a good harvest.

He criticized BJP and JDS leaders for spreading falsehoods, stating that the government has allocated ₹1.35 lakh crore for development, which is visible to the public but not to the BJP leaders.

He assured that their government stands for those who have been deprived of literacy, culture, and social opportunities.
