VIjayapura: 6 killed in fatal mishap
VIJAYAPURA
Six people, including four from the same family, died on the spot in a horrific accident that occurred on National Highway 50 near Managuli town in Basavanabagewadi taluk of the district on Wednesday morning.
Police said the accident occurred between a Mahindra Scorpio, a private bus and a lorry.
Police sources said that Canara Bank Manager T Bhaskaran, his wife Pavithra, son Abhiram, daughter Josna, residents of Gadwal from Telangana state, who were in the Mahindra Scorpio, and driver Vikas Shivappa Makani from Horti, and private bus driver Basavaraj Rathod from Kalgutagi Thanda, died on the spot.
Four members of the same family, including the driver in the Scorpio, and one person in the private bus died on the spot. Several others, including T Bhaskaran's other son Praveen Teja, were injured and have been admitted to a local hospital. Managooli police, who reached the spot after receiving the news, are investigating.
“On Wednesday morning, a Mahindra SUV 300 vehicle heading towards Solapur collided with a private bus coming from Mumbai to Ballari near Managuli. Tragically, six people died in the accident. Initial information has revealed that six people, including five passengers in the Mahindra Scorpio and the driver of the private bus, have died,” said Lakshman B Nimbargi, District Superintendent of Police.
