The government has prepared the caste census report to appease a certain caste. The caste census report had been in limbo for decades. The All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha Sangh has opposed the caste census. The caste census report has not been prepared transparently, said Veerasomeshwara Shivacharya Swamiji of Rambhapuri Peetha in Balehonnur.
Speaking to the media at Rambhapuri, he demanded, the caste census report has been prepared right under the noses of the government. The caste census report should be reviewed. Officials should visit houses. Many people have already expressed concerns about the caste census report. Officials should prepare the report with transparency, visiting houses and understanding the feelings of the people.
Many ruling party MLAs have expressed opposition to this caste census report. The opposition party has boycotted the caste census report. If the Chief Minister re-examines and comes forward with the caste census report, it will be good for the people. Otherwise, it will lead to caste suffering, he said.
We are completely boycotting and rejecting this caste census report. In a democratic system, the government wants to provide reservation to certain castes. But as per the wishes of the Constitution, steps should be taken regarding the caste census report. The Constitution mentions how much reservation should be given to which caste, he said.
The state government does not have the authority to prepare the caste census report. Only the central government has this authority. In this regard, the central government should provide proper information and some instructions to the state governments, Veerasomeshwara Shivacharya Swamiji of Rambhapuri Peetha said.
