Even though the population in the respective hobli has crossed 10,000, the existing primary health centers are still there. No effort has been made to upgrade them. Moreover, treatment is a mirage without a staff doctor. People from the three hobli areas have demanded that the Basavapatna, Mayakonda and Bilichodhu primary health centers in the district be upgraded to community health centers as per the population.

Mayakonda and Basavapatna have become big hoblis. The population within the limits of these two hoblis has crossed 10 thousand. The facilities at the primary health center here, which provides health services to people coming from dozens of villages around this big hobli center, are a mirage. Hundreds of people rely on the primary health center here for daily health services. However, people are suffering without the necessary facilities. Also, the primary health center within the limits of Bilichodu village also needs to be upgraded to a community health center. District Health Officer Dr. S Shanmukhappa has already submitted a proposal to the government to upgrade these three primary health centers of Mayakonda, Bilichodu, and Basavapatna, and people within the limits of the three hoblis have urged the government to take this step quickly.

Patients are not getting proper treatment as there is only one doctor in all the health centers. Even though Mayakonda has become an assembly constituency, there is still a primary health center here. Only one doctor is serving here, and the one doctor is a part-time doctor. Their services are available only during the day. The people of the hobli are expressing their dissatisfaction that the nursing officers provide health services here from evening to morning.
