Unlicensed private schools in Ramanagara; Authorities take action
Ramanagara
Schools are often considered temples for children, crucial for shaping their bright futures. However, some educational institutions, driven by greed, are toying with children's lives. This concerning trend is particularly evident in Ramanagara, the 'Silk City,' where several unauthorized private schools are operating without proper approval.
In Ramanagara, located in Bengaluru South district, unauthorized private schools have sprung up, allegedly playing with the futures of countless children. These institutions, motivated by financial gain, are reportedly engaging in numerous illicit practices. A clear example of this is the case of Suleman and Shabrin Taj from Ziaullah Block, who enrolled their daughter in Nobel English School in their neighborhood. They later discovered, when their daughter reached the sixth grade, that the school only had permission to operate up to the fifth grade, yet was illegally conducting classes for the sixth and seventh standards.
When the parents requested a transfer certificate (TC) to enroll their daughter in another school, they were shockingly provided with a TC from a different government Urdu school. Shabrin Taj expressed her outrage, stating that her daughter had studied in English medium up to the fifth grade, but the school provided no documents to certify this.
Similarly, another private institution in the city, 'Good Hope' School, has reportedly been operating for several years without obtaining government approval. Parents associated with this school have faced similar issues, as the school has not provided online TCs, making it difficult for them to enroll their children elsewhere. Salim Pasha, a parent, accused the school of playing with children's futures solely for financial gain, without obtaining the necessary permissions from the Education Department.
When questioned about these serious allegations, BEO (Block Education Officer) Somalingayya confirmed that an FIR has already been registered against Nobel School. He also stated that Good Hope School has been shut down.
The proliferation of these unauthorized private schools, driven by monetary greed, has caused significant distress for both students and parents in Ramanagara. This situation underscores the urgent need for the Education Department and the government to take stringent measures to curb such illegal operations and safeguard the educational future of children.
