The Udupi District Working Journalists' Union marked its silver jubilee by launching a welfare fund, receiving a donation from Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the bishop of the Udupi diocese. The event took place at the care center in Kakkunje, with Udupi diocese vicar general Monsignor Ferdinand Gonsalves in attendance. During the program, President Rajesh Shetty Alevoor, Chief Secretary Nazir Polya, and Silver Jubilee Committee Convener Mohammed Sharif were present. The establishment of the welfare fund aims to support journalists in the Udupi district as part of the union's ongoing commitment to their well-being.
