Three interstate robbers arrested in jewelry heist case

City police have cracked the sensational robbery at Malik Jewelry Making Shop, arresting three interstate criminals involved in the case that stunned the district and the state.
Police Commissioner Dr. S.D. Sharanappa announced the arrest of Ayodhyaprasad Chavan, Farooq Mallick, and Sohel alias Badshah. The trio was nabbed in Hooghly, West Bengal. Police recovered 2.860 kg of gold ornaments worth ₹2.10 crore and ₹4.80 lakh in cash from the accused.
The robbery took place on July 11 at Saraf Bazaar. In a film-style attack, four masked men stormed into the shop, held owner Shafakathutha Malik at gunpoint, tied him up, and looted over 3 kg of gold. They gagged him with cloth and tape before fleeing after pulling down the shutter.
A complaint was filed at the Brahmapur police station, after which a special team was formed. Swift investigation and coordination across states led to the arrests. One suspect remains at large.
