In the wake of the increasing number of corona cases in the state, doctors and healthcare workers have been advised to wear masks. People need not panic in any way, our government has taken all precautionary measures, said Medical Education and Skill Development Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil.

The Minister, who held a press conference after the Covid precautionary meeting at Vikasa Soudha, said that Covid cases are increasing day by day. But there is no need to worry too much about this. Pregnant women and children should use masks. The government has taken all kinds of measures. People should also join hands with us.

Schools will start after the summer vacation. Students should not be sent to school if they have a fever, cold, or cough. If children get a cold or flu at school, they should call their parents immediately and send them away, he said.

I have held a meeting with all the hospital directors of the Medical Education Department. Testing is done in four departments, lab system. They have been instructed to provide information about oxygen beds and ventilators, he said.

The meeting was held in view of the expected increase in Covid cases in Bengaluru and Karnataka. The elderly and pregnant women should use masks in crowded places. Children with colds and coughs have been instructed not to go to school, he said.

There is no need to make masks mandatory for now: Even though there are Corona cases, there is no need to make masks mandatory for everyone. It is enough for those with fever, cold, and flu to wear them. We will monitor them well. This time, the weather has also changed due to increased rainfall. The Minister clarified that this is also causing fever, cold, and cough.
