Submit proposals for Kukkuta Sanjeevini scheme: ZP CEO KR Nandini

There is an opportunity in the government to encourage women of self-help groups to engage in activities like goat, sheep and chicken farming. Interested self-help groups should submit a proposal to get facilities under the Kukkuta Sanjeevini scheme, said Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer KR Nandini.

She spoke while visiting the Gouramma Naati Meke Farm of Jagadish, a farmer from Tailur village in Maddur taluk, who has achieved success in goat and chicken farming by taking advantage of the National Livestock Mission scheme.

After getting information about different breeds of goats at Jagadish's farm, he expressed his appreciation for his achievement of managing them well and moving towards profit. She said that Jagadish's move is inspiring to other farmers as well.

He instructed the officials to identify the Gram Panchayat level unions interested in poultry farming under the Kukkuta Sanjeevini scheme and suitable space for poultry farming. Later, she visited the veterinary hospital in Tailur village and checked the artificial insemination of cows and the vaccination of foot and mouth disease. She inspected the outpatient records and treatment details of the hospital.
