The Karnataka Police Run-2025 marathon was held in the district today under the themes Free Karnataka Fitness for All and Our Police, Our Pride.

Deputy Commissioner K Nitish participated in the 5 km marathon run organized by the District Police Department at the city's Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium.

The marathon started at the city's district stadium and ended at the district police parade ground via Basaveshwara Circle, Chandramouleshwara Circle, Ganj Circle. Hundreds of people, including various associations, organizations, women, students, and the general public, participated in the race.

  A 5 km marathon was held under the title Karnataka Police Run by Chamarajanagar District Police.

The marathon started from the Police Parade Ground and reached the Dr BR Ambedkar statue in Ramasamudra, took a U-turn from there, reached Bhuvaneshwari Circle and ended back at the Police Parade Ground. More than 2,000 people, including employees of the police department, employees of other departments, office bearers of organizations, the public and students, participated.

Medals were distributed to the first 50 finishers of the marathon. It was special as District Magistrate Shilpanag, Superintendent of Police Dr BT Kavita and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mona Roth participated.

A marathon race was organized in the city by the police as part of creating awareness among the public for the creation of a drug-free Karnataka.

Ballari Zone IGP Lokesh Kumar and District Superintendent of Police Shobharani flagged off the run. To be healthy, it is necessary to eradicate drugs, and the youth have a great responsibility in creating a drug-free society, they said.
