In the case involving actress Ranya Rao, the state government appears to be protecting certain individuals, as a minister is allegedly involved. Central Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized the need to uncover the purpose for which the smuggled gold was being used.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he mentioned that the state government had extended patronage to Ranya Rao. "Upon examining this, it becomes evident that ministers and other politicians are implicated. Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara should take this seriously and conduct an investigation into the matter. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister should also approach this case with gravity. No one should be spared from scrutiny. It must be clarified if the gold brought in is being used for Naxal activities or terrorism," he stated.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had expressed that he would serve his full term, which indicates that there are underlying issues that need to be addressed. This statement should be echoed by D.K. Shivakumar and his supporters. They have been blessed by the people, and we desire that they continue as Chief Minister for the full term. However, we urge that looting should not continue, he added.
Joshi also mentioned that previous governments were accused of a 40 percent commission corruption, yet no notices have been issued regarding this. The Justice Nagamohan Das Commission has submitted a report to the government. After reviewing the report's findings, the party will make its next decision. He asserted that they would not be intimidated by such blatant threats.
This case, involving high-profile individuals, has raised significant concerns about political integrity and the seriousness of smuggling activities in the state.
