Religious awareness was emphasized during the Upanayanam (sacred thread ceremony) of Dr. Pruthu P. Advaith, held at a private wedding hall in Srirampura, Mysuru.

On this occasion, former Member of Parliament Pratap Simha remarked that creating awareness about Hinduism in India has become essential. He expressed joy that the Upanayanam of eight-year-old Pruthu, who has brought pride to Mysuru and Karnataka by setting three world records in Vedic chanting and receiving two honorary doctorates, has become a platform for such religious awakening.

He added that blessings and well-wishes for Pruthu’s Upanayanam from many spiritual leaders – including the pontiffs of Sringeri, Pejawar Mutt, Mantralaya, Uttaradi Mutt, Dharmasthala’s Veerendra Heggade, and the religious authorities of Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple – signify the enormous responsibility Pruthu holds in the future to serve the cause of Sanatana Dharma.

In today’s times, when people are becoming indifferent to the 16 sacred samskaras (rites of passage), it is vital for us as Indians to revive and uphold their significance. Only when religious awareness awakens within all of us will Dharma gain strength. He emphasized that youth must show greater interest in such matters.

Already a world record holder, Pruthu P. Advaith’s Upanayanam ceremony featured many unique elements aimed at religious awareness — including display boards bearing Vedic messages such as “Aham Brahmasmi,” “Tat Tvam Asi,” “Matru Devo Bhava,” and “Pitru Devo Bhava.” A photo of Lord Rama from Ayodhya was distributed as a reminder of the struggle that led to the consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple a year ago. Additionally, religious texts were distributed to the public, promoting further awareness.

Present at the ceremony were Pruthu’s parents, Puneeth G. Kudluru and Pooja N., K.R. Ganesh, Saraswati, Brahmana Yuva Vedike’s General Secretary Vikram Iyengar, Ajay Shastri, Nishant, and other family members and well-wishers.
