Simplify E-Property Certificate Process, Demands AAP Leader Vijay Patil
BELAGAVI:
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) District President Vijay Patil has urged the Belagavi City Corporation to simplify the process of issuing e-property certificates. Addressing a press conference, he said citizens are being burdened with the requirement of 8 to 10 documents, unlike in Bengaluru, where the certificates are issued within 2-3 days after submission of just a few documents.
“There are over 2.5 lakh properties under the Corporation’s jurisdiction, but only 15,000 e-property certificates have been issued so far,” Patil said. He suggested verifying a few key documents—such as tax paid receipts and CTS numbers—should be sufficient.
Highlighting the inconsistencies, Patil said while some residents receive certificates in four days, others wait for months. He also demanded action to eliminate the interference of agents and ensure a transparent, time-bound process. Making the system citizen-friendly will reduce corruption and enhance trust, he added.
