Renowned director Om Saiprakash, known for successful films like Thavarige Baa Thangi, Muddina Maava, Anna Thangi, and Solillada Saradara, has now directed a new movie titled September 10.

Carrying the powerful message that suicide is not the only solution to the problems faced in human life and that there is always another way, the film has completed its shooting and post-production and is set for release next month.

The film is titled September 10 because that date marks World Suicide Prevention Day, aligning perfectly with the film's theme. Produced under the banner of Sridevi Pictures by E. Rajamma Saiprakash, this movie is a sincere effort to offer guidance and hope to those with fragile or troubled minds. Dr. S. Raju, a former BBMP member who provided free food and medical support to lakhs of people during the COVID pandemic, has extended strong support to the film. Motivated by the film’s message and vision, he is actively helping to bring it to the public.

The film revolves around five major issues:

Farmers committing suicide due to crop loss and debt traps, lovers taking their lives due to societal pressure, businesspeople ending their lives after financial losses, students driven to suicide due to exam stress and children taking extreme steps due to not meeting parental expectations in academics.

Each of these topics is explored with a corresponding solution suggested through professional psychological guidance in the film.

Speaking at a press meet here on Monday, director Om Saiprakash said

Making a film these days is difficult, and releasing it to reach audiences is even harder. He had started this film back in 2020 with the title September 10, but the pandemic hit before its release. He was unsure whether audiences would come to the theatres. Through Dombarakrishna Suresh, he was introduced to Dr. Raju and when he narrated the story, he liked it very much. Films like this need to be made more often. Even if only a few viewers change their mindset after watching the movie, that would be their success. The film includes family sentiment, comedy, and all types of entertainment. No matter what happens, some people choose to stand by them.

He also mentioned that C. Narayanagowda has joined hands in support of the film and is encouraging all members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike to watch it. “With the blessings of Shirdi Saibaba, our film has come this far,” he added.

The film features story and direction by Om Saiprakash, music by Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, cinematography by J.G. Krishna, and dialogues by B.A. Madhu. Veteran actor Ramesh Bhat plays the role of a lawyer. The cast also includes Shashikumar, Srinivasamurthy, Ravindranath, Shivakumar, Ganesh Rao Kesarkar, Sihi Kahi Chandru, Meese Anjinappa, Josaiman, Manmohan, Padma Vasanthi, Sriraksha, Anita Rani, and Jayasimha Aradhya, among several experienced actors.
