Karnataka Scouts and Guides Chief Commissioner P.G.R.Sindhia said that adoption of the Dasoha system by the religious mutts along with the free education and food helped in improving the standard of education. The coastal districts are in forefront in offering the quality education in the state.

Speaking at a meeting with the officers of the education department held here to chalk out the activities, he said that the standard of education has been on par with the international standard thanks to the quality of education since the days of the maharajas of Mysore State. The more number of Kannadigas in NASA is indeed a matter of pride. The education system was changing a lot and the entire learning process may change in the next three to four years for which they need to be ready from now onwards.

Sindhia said there is a wrong notion that those students who have joined the scouts or guides score less marks in the academics and for which reason they have established the coaching centers in many places. This year, students have excelled in the state puraskar exam and more than 2000 students have got 93 per cent marks and their schemes are helping children. “Of late, NITI Ayog has made the scouts and guides compulsory in all the states but this has been existed in Karnataka since the days of K.C.Reddy. However, teachers must strive to make the activities more effective,” he added.

He also said that teachers who train the scouts activities would be imparted training, and both teachers and students must take part in the various camps organised by the state unit. Then the children must create awareness among the people.

Those who attended the meeting were DDPI Javaregowda, District Scouts and Guides Chief P.Vishwanath, District Secretary Abdul Jameel, district physical education officers, block education officers.
