District Minister Santosh Lad warned the officials that they will be held responsible if the funds allotted to their department for various development works get lapsed due to non-completion of the work before March 31.
Chairing the quarterly meeting to review the progress of works under Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) in the district, he expressed his displeasure at the slow pace of works and said the officers had not complied with the instructions given by him in the previous meeting.
The Minister said that officers who have been in the departments for many years should come to the meeting with new ideas. They should use their knowledge and experience to perform their duties in a better manner and advise the government to bring in new schemes and programmes, he said.
The progress and implementation of the previous year's programmes should be compared and the achievement should be determined. Instructions were given to the officials in every meeting, but they are not responding. They do not have basic information about their own department. This shows your lack of involvement,  Lad charged.

He directed the officers to visit villages, work sites and take part in the department's ebents. He asked them to compulsorily write diary every day and come with this diary to the next meeting.
Lashing out at the teachers of schools where the passing percentage in SSLC was zero, Lad said they should introspect on whether they are doing justice to their jobs, the Minister said.
MLC Salim Ahmed, MLAs NH Konaraddi, MR Patil, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Bhuvanesh Patil, Superintendent of Police Gopal Byakod and other officers were present.
