A video of Santosh Jarkiholi, son of former minister and Gokak BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, firing a gun into the air during a public event has gone viral, sparking public outrage and police action.

The incident took place during the Lakshmi Devi fair in Gokak, where Santosh was seen celebrating with supporters. In the video, he is seen firing a gun into the air while surrounded by a large crowd near a temple, with his supporters cheering and shouting.

What has raised concern is that the firing occurred in a crowded area, right in front of the police, during a religious event. The incident falls under the Gokak City Police Station's jurisdiction.

After the video circulated widely on social media, Gokak police registered a case against Santosh Jarkiholi.

District Superintendent of Police Dr. Bhimashankar Guleda confirmed, We’ve taken note of the video showing Ramesh Jarkiholi’s son firing a weapon in public. A case has been filed under charges of displaying and discharging a firearm in a public place. Further investigation is underway, and legal action will follow based on the findings. The case has triggered debate on public safety and VIP accountability, especially when such acts are committed during large gatherings.
