A special event was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Hadonahalli, Doddaballapur Taluk, to mark the release of the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme. Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V. Somanna, and Minister K.H. Muniyappa attended the program and watched Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live address along with local farmers.

Minister Somanna shared that under PM-KISAN, ₹6,000 is directly credited to farmers’ bank accounts annually. So far, ₹3.89 lakh crore has been disbursed across the country, including ₹18,922 crore to Karnataka. Around 43.28 lakh farmers in Karnataka have benefitted. He noted that the national agriculture budget has risen significantly—from ₹21,933 crore in 2013-14 to ₹1.27 lakh crore in 2025-26. The latest instalment alone saw ₹20,800 crore credited to 9.7 crore farmers. He urged the state government to reinstate its previous ₹4,000 support per farmer.

Somanna also highlighted the support extended to women farmers, with over 2.26 crore women benefitting in this round. On fertilizers, he assured sufficient supply, with 6.52 lakh metric tonnes available nationwide, including 15,825 tonnes for Karnataka, and encouraged farmers to report any local shortages.

Minister Muniyappa emphasized the government’s responsibility to assist farmers, especially in drought-hit areas. He spoke about progress in the Ettinahole project and urged action on the Paramashivaiah Committee Report to utilize 500 TMC of unused water. He also stressed the need to complete pending railway projects in the district.

The event included stalls and exhibitions from agriculture departments and saw participation from officials, farmers, and elected representatives.
