One week deadline for issuance of title deeds

A large number of applications are pending for the issuance of title deeds in Gubbi, Madhugiri, Shira and Turuvekere taluks of the district, Deputy Commissioner Shubha Kalyan has directed the officials to dispose of them within a week.
The Revenue Department conducted a progress review meeting. The Assistant Commissioners were instructed to submit a progress report on the distribution of title deeds every day.
He said that the repair process of the land allotted to farmers should be expedited. For cases that have been measured by the Survey Department and submitted for approval by the Tahsildar, approval should be obtained from the Forest Department and the land title deed should be printed within three days.
He said that linking of Aadhaar to farmers' cards should be done on priority. Scanning and digitization of records in taluk offices should be expedited. The target should be reached within the stipulated time by scanning 10,000 pages every day in each taluk.
He said that the revenue, forest and survey departments should jointly inspect the lands identified as protected forest areas. Lands that are included in and not included in the forest area should be properly inspected and a GPS-based photo map should be prepared.
Those living in tandas and huts should be given necessary revenue documents including title deeds immediately. He said that the village administrator and surveyors should visit the spot and issue title deeds on priority.
